Eltham Palace

Woolwich

29 August 2005 • The Great Hall, built by Edward IV in the 1470s, suffered decades of neglect but is now to be seen in all its splendour.

29 August 2005 • Standing in the Court Yard near the entrance to Eltham Palace is the Lord Chancellor’s house built in grand Tudor style.

29 August 2005 • When inside the grounds of Eltham Palace, there are remarkable views across London. The most surprising view is that of the arch at Wembley Stadium seen through the MIllennium Wheel. To its right can be seen the large white building erected as the Shell Centre. The top of Big Ben’s tower can just be seen on the far left. At the far right can be seen part of the curved roof of Embankment Place, built over Charing Cross Station.
